1. General Provisions

1.1 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Violent Design Culture (“VDC”, “we”, “our”, “us”) website, services, and products. By accessing or purchasing from our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional policies referenced herein.

1.2 Amendments

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the website after any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

1.3 Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be submitted exclusively to the competent courts of the Netherlands.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements

2.1 General Age Requirement

Customers must be at least 16 years old to access our website. However, purchasing certain items requires a higher legal age as described below.

2.2 Restricted Products (18+)

Certain products sold by VDC—including but not limited to knives, defense sprays (such as gel sprays), bulletproof or stabproof vests, self-defense tools, and any item classified as restricted under Dutch or EU law—may only be purchased by individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Restricted products subject to 18+ age limits are non-returnable except for defects, as further described in our Return & Refund Policy.

2.3 Verification & False Information

We reserve the right to request age verification at any time. If false information is provided, the customer bears full legal responsibility, and VDC may cancel the order without a refund.

2.4 Minors and Non-Restricted Items

Customers under 18 may purchase non-restricted items (such as apparel, stickers, flags, patches, and merchandise) only with the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian assumes full responsibility for the purchase.

3. Products & Authenticity

3.1 Military Surplus Items

VDC sells authentic and used military surplus items sourced from legitimate distributors. These items may show wear consistent with prior professional use. Such wear does not constitute a defect.

3.2 Customization Services

Certain items can be customized upon request. Custom products may require additional processing time and cannot be returned unless legally required under Dutch consumer law.

3.3 No Representation of Authority Disclaimer

All military surplus items, tactical apparel, and protective equipment sold by VDC are supplied strictly for civilian use.
Customers are prohibited from using these items to:

impersonate police, military, security personnel,
misrepresent authority or rank, or
engage in activities that violate Dutch law.

The buyer assumes full liability for any misuse. VDC bears no responsibility for illegal behavior associated with the improper use of our products.

4. Self-Defense Products

4.1 Legal Responsibility

Self-defense products offered by VDC (such as alarms, protection sprays, tactical tools, etc.) must be used lawfully, in accordance with Dutch and EU regulations. The buyer is responsible for ensuring that possession and use comply with their local laws.

4.2 Not a Replacement for Training

Self-defense items do not guarantee personal safety. We recommend appropriate safety training and awareness practices.

4.3 No Risk-Free Guarantee

Products intended for protection reduce risk but do not eliminate it. VDC is not responsible for injury, misuse, or any consequences related to the use or attempted use of such items.

5. Pricing, Payments & Orders

5.1 Accuracy of Pricing

Prices listed on our website are displayed in Euros (€) and include BTW (VAT) where applicable. VDC reserves the right to change pricing at any time.

5.2 Payment Methods

We accept various secure payment methods as displayed at checkout. Orders are not processed until payment is successfully completed.

5.3 Order Acceptance

Your order constitutes an offer to us. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders at our discretion, including for suspected fraud, inaccurate information, or legal restrictions (including age limits).

5.4 Order Cancellation

A mandatory processing fee of €3.95 applies to cancellations.
This covers payment processing fees which are not refunded to us by payment providers. Read more about this in out Return & Refund Policy.

6. Shipping & Delivery

6.1 Shipping Locations

VDC ships primarily to the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, with international options available unless restricted by law.

6.2 Processing Times

Orders are processed within the timeframes specified on the product pages. Delays may occur due to high demand, customization, or external courier issues.

6.3 Shipping Risk

Once transferred to the carrier, the risk of loss passes to the customer. Missing or damaged packages must be reported immediately to the courier.

7. Returns & Refunds

7.1 Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene, safety, or legal reasons, the following items cannot be returned unless defective:

self-defense sprays and tools
protective vests
customized items
used military surplus items
knives and sharp tools
Digital items/content
Giftcards

7.2 Right of Withdrawal

Where applicable under Dutch consumer law, buyers have 14 days to withdraw from non-restricted, non-customized purchases. Customers outside the EU are not eligible to return products, except in cases of defects, as further described in our Return & Refund Policy.

7.3 Condition of Returned Goods

Items must be returned unused, in original condition, and with all supplied accessories. Failure to do so may reduce or void the refund.

8. Liability

8.1 Use-at-Own-Risk Disclaimer

All tactical, survival, and self-defense items are sold strictly at the buyer’s own risk. VDC is not liable for injuries, legal consequences, or damages arising from:

misuse of products,
illegal possession,
improper training or handling,
attempts to impersonate authorities.

8.2 No Professional Advice

Any information, guides, blogs, or ebooks provided by VDC are for general educational purposes only and do not constitute legal, tactical, or professional advice.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Trademarks & Branding

All logos, product images, brand names, and designs are the property of VDC or its licensors. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.

9.2 User-Generated Content

If customers submit reviews or images, they grant VDC a non-exclusive license to use such content for marketing purposes.

10. Prohibited Conduct

Customers agree not to use VDC products or services to:

violate Dutch, EU, or international laws,
impersonate law enforcement, military, or government personnel,
endanger others,
commit violence or intimidation,
engage in hate speech or extremist activity,
misrepresent product usage.

Any breach may result in immediate account termination, order cancellation, and legal action.

11. Force Majeure

VDC is not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, war, pandemics, or courier disruptions.
